I went to Climate Camp during the final week of the event, and before the day of action. I went mainly to enjoy the atmosphere and attend some workshops. I also took my sketchbook though and thought it would be an interesting alternative way of documenting the event. Below you can see the pages from my sketchbook. From the hill that Climate Camp was on you could see Kingsnorth in the distance. It was this huge pillar on the landscape with electricity cables running from all sides down to it.

This year’s Climate Camp was the third so far, and these illustrations were done between the 7th and 9th of August.

Ahh, the police at Climate Camp. Well, they weren’t very nice to anyone. Thankfully I managed to have very little contact with them.

The Lucky Poo Saloon at Climate Camp was something to behold, as in fact were all the toilets. But then again the other toilets didn’t have such a cool name. The only problem was how busy it got in the early morning.

It rained less than I expected it to, but when the rain did come it was in the shape of horrible, driving storms.

The self defence class was incredible. It was actually the first self defence workshop I’ve ever seen - it looked like a lot of fun!

The Anarchist Teapot was the place to be to get food. Queues and queues of people lined up ever mealtime to get some food from them.

The chilled out place to hang, the tranquility tent at Climate Camp was a place to relax and watch the world go by.
