Our friend Dave Mahoney was in court yesterday (October 2nd) for a preliminary hearing. It went well with the judge dropping the assault charge that the prosecution was wanting to hold against him.
I went to Climate Camp during the final week of the event, and before the day of action. I went mainly to enjoy the atmosphere and attend some workshops. I also took my sketchbook though and thought it would be an interesting alternative way of documenting the event.
Capitalism is not looking particularly healthy at the moment, $700 billion bail-outs, nationalisation of banks and rising unemployment all add up to a complete mess. And as organisers for this year’s London Anarchist Bookfair put it, “In the market of ideas the anarchist pound is bouyant”.
The Manchest zine fest returns! After a year away Manchester’s day of zines, small-press and comics has returned for some end of summer fun. The fest is happening on the 30th August from 12pm-6pm at Urbis, Manchester.
It is now less than a month away from the prestigious London Vegan Festival. The event is open to all regardless of dietary preference and encourages non-vegan attendees to come with an open mind. The event has lots to offer with stalls, music, stand up comedy, speakers and workshops as well as much more.

On 30th July The Common Place, an autonomous social centre in Leeds, had their license withdrawn. It means that whilst The Common Place will continue to function, the centre will no longer be able to do a number of things, which is potentially threatening the centre’s future.
This Sunday, 3rd July, Publish and Be Damned self-publishing fair is happening in Rochelle School, Arnold Circus, London E2. As part of the event Mute Magazine is presenting a talk on privatisation and critical artistic practice.
